Graduate Programme

London
Closing date: 25 Jun 2021

Bonhams is thrilled to announce its new Graduate Programme based in London and starting in September 2021.

Applications are now open! So, if you are passionate about the auction world and would like to get the first step into it, read through and send us your application.

What to expect from the Graduate Programme?

During the 18 months long programme, you will have the opportunity to experience the Bonhams world from different angles, while working side by side to our team of extremely talented people. You will be mentored and supported by business leaders and will be involved in exciting projects throughout the programme.

The Programme will be made up of two placement rotations: during the first 6 months you will work in one of our core departments, either Client Services or Operations, assisting with the planning, administration and maintenance of auction operations, from setting up galleries to taking bids during sales.

During the next 12 months, you will have opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by cataloguers and specialists with vast experience in the major area of art and collectables such as Jewellery, Contemporary Art, Impressionist Art, etc. You will be involved in tasks related to pre and post sales administration, properties research and cataloguing, works of art valuations, etc.

What are we looking for?

Our programme wants to open the doors of the auction and fine art world to fresh graduates from all backgrounds. You will be considered for participation in the scheme regardless of your academic qualification. However, we do require applicants to demonstrate a genuine passion for fine arts, preferably a strong knowledge of the industry and the market or previous experience in a similar business.

The ideal candidate is ambitious, motivated, creative and open to challenges, with an aptitude for business and sales.

Ideally, you will have a University Degree of 2:1 or above, completed within the past 2 years.

What will we offer?

During the programme, you will have the chance to build the skills you need to succeed in the auction business; we will provide tailored, on-the-job training and mentorship from our Specialists.

We offer a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package.

Application Process

If you think you are what we are looking for, send an email to Recruitment attaching your CV and short cover letter responding to both the following questions:

– How does your previous experience (study or work) and skills relate to Bonhams Graduate Programme?
– Why do you want to work at Bonhams?

The selection process includes 2 to 3 stages, including an interview with the People Team and an assessment centre held in mid-July and attended by Bonhams Senior Leaders.

The deadline is the 25th June 2021, but we select candidates on a rolling basis, so do apply ASAP!

Please, note that we will only consider candidates with the right to work in the UK.
